Ankle too narrow

The shaft of this boot too narrow right before the rubber part. It makes the boots nearly impossible to get on. Order up 1 1/2-2 sizes, I suppose, though I don't know that the boots would fit well then. Also, if you have large calves these boots may not fit you. They are very cute, but it took me 5 minutes of shoving to put my foot in one and I couldn't duplicate whatever it is I did. Once the boot was on it fit fine, but the ankle part just wasn't made for easy entry; my heel kept getting stuck. I'm an 8.5 and I ordered a size 9.
